Judith Gibson
Judith is the Head Professional at Wakefield School of Tennis and is
a LTA Licensed Coach and a member of the British Tennis Coaches Association.
As a player she has represented Yorkshire at
all levels - Junior, Senior, Over 35 and is currently a member of the very successful Veterans Team playing
in matches all around the country. At 17 she was the Yorkshire Under 21 Champion and as a Veteran has been ranked at
Number 5 in Great Britain.
Before becoming a full time Tennis Coach Judith was a Chartered
Physiotherapist in a hospital and, more recently, at Wakefield Trinity Wildcats (the team she has supported fanatically
from the age of 6!!!)
Steven
Johnson
Steven is a LTA, Licensed, Level 3 Development Coach, qualified
to work with children of all ages and is a member of the BTCA.
He
is currently in his 4th Year of study for a BSc (Hons) in Primary Education specialising in Sport at Leeds Metropolitan University.
Steven is a keen player and currently plays at West Yorkshire Tennis Club in their Yorkshire
League and Wakefield League Teams
Nigel Glover
Nigel is a Licensed LTA Level 3 Development Coach and is a member of the BTCA.
He is a keen player and played Yorkshire League Div One matches for many years and also
competed in tournaments. He still plays matches in the Yorkshire League and the Hudderfield and District
league.
Nigel used to work
in the local family business, and is now self-employed.
Jane Mayes
Jane is
a Level 2 coach with PTR qualification and has loved tennis since the age of 7 (as a youngster was coached by Judith!!!)
and now enjoys playing at club level.
Her two boys, Dan and Jamie, inspired her to do the
tennis coaching qualification - She likes to make my tennis sessions energetic and full of fun.
Away from tennis
Jane has been a registered Nurse for 12 years and has been lucky enough to take on lots of different roles and responsibilities.
Celia Smith
Celia is an LTA Tennis Assistant and a member of the British Tennis
Coaches Association.
She has successfully obtained the Community
Sports Leadership 1 in coaching, the UKCC 1 Coaching Assistant Award and will be undertaking the UKCC 2 (Community Tennis
Coach) during this year via the Lawn Tennis Association.
Having
worked in the Financial Sector, Celia has had a career change and currently works in Education. She has had a keen interest
in tennis from being a teenager and was a member of Sandal Tennis Club for
many years playing in their Wakefield League Team.
